South East Aesthetics (S.E.A) is a media collective based in Thanet in the South East of England. We are four four photographers, videographers and bloggers all coming from a skateboarding background. The contributors to the site are Hazleleigh Prebble, James Brown, Ben Wilks and Ollie Marshall, who established South East Aesthetics in August 2012.
At South East Aesthetics our main focus is to provide high quality media items. We have a range of topics covered on the blog, mainly focusing on skateboarding culture. We also document events, fashion, our surroundings, the people around us and much much more. At the end of every month we aim to produce either an online magazine or video feature for the blog. The South East Aesthetics magazine will include numerous photos from the month as well as a feature on a skateboarder.
All of the contributors to the blog have a huge range of experience and have a great history working on photo and video shoots. Noticing that there was a lack of continuity with local online media, the concept for South East Aesthetics came about. Having been established in August 2012 and released into the public in September 2012, South East Aesthetics is developing its name as a skateboarding media and lifestyle blog.
Located in the South East England the South East Aesthetics HQ is in Thanet, Kent. Our seaside surroundings definitely influenced our blogs art direction, with the nautical theme seeming pretty apt for a blog about the local area. It's also pretty apparent through our works that the surroundings of the seaside towns have had an influence on us, having grown up living a stones throw away from water, boats, piers and sand.
